This model builds up nicely and has a great decal set, but the fit of the hood is about 1/32nd too big to fit. This is true for both hoods included in the kit. Suggest you carefully sand the front of the hood to get it to fit flush against the front clip. This is a bit tricky since the hood has some contours that you want to maintain. I did multiple test fits of the hood as I slowly sanded the plastic. The kit does not include red glass for the taillights, so I just used some Tamiya clear red and orange and they turned out great. Would suggest you glue the rear hatch to the body before painting. The hatch does not open, so this will allow you to use plastic cement to get a solid bond with the body. It takes a bit of fiddling, but you can get the hatch to fit nicely. The decals are very colorful and easy to apply. I especially liked the Marathon logo on the front hood. Overall, this kit would make a nice weekend build.

This kit is a re-release of an old offering, but it has aged pretty well. There is not much plastic flash on the parts and they fit together well - with the exception of the hood. As others have mentioned, both hoods are just too long to fit and have to be sanded down to get them close. I decided to kit-bash this a little bit and turned it into Bob Glidden's Pro Stock car from the 70's. The rear wheel wells needed to be wollered out to get the horizontal decal to look right, but the rear was already so jacked-up that making the opening bigger would have made it more weird-looking, so I left it as is.

Considering it's age, this is a very nice stunt, or drag, flash-free kit. It lacks under hood detail, especially on the radiator wall. No stock chrome wheels or outside sport mirrors to go with the included front and rear spoilers. no stock steering wheel and, surprisingly, it's missing the gas and brake pedals! Chrome taillights and headlights. Can be kit bashed with the AMT 1977 Pinto for a closer to stock version.
