This is one of the most useless tools I have ever purchased. I was excited to get this. because of it's unique design, i thought it would all but eliminate sanding off sprue gates because it looked like it could nip VERY close to the part. Just got the tool and tried it out. I cut a part from a sprue and tried to nip off the gate and found 2 things that make it worthless. 1) it does NOT nip close to the part at all and 2) that you really need to squeeze hard to make it cut. I went back and did the same thing, but this time with the Dspiae sprue cutters as I have been doing forever and the close nip this made, told me FOR SURE! I should not have spent 15 bucks on this turkey. If you want a clean nip off of a sprue gate, get the Dspiae or any other anvil type sprue cutter. these are expensive, but fantastic. If you don't want to spend that much, purchase this one for 12 bucks (Xuron Corp. # XUR90039). It will CERTAINLY be better than this item.

Could not cut parts off a Roden kit sprue which is silly because Roden has very soft styrene to begin with.
