For a 1/700, this kit packs the detail. Everything written is in Japanese, so it's well worth downloading a translator. Most of the parts are labeled, and some include a description of why. The folks at Fujimi seem to be seeking historical accuracy. This is a waterline only kit, and there is no PE. NOTE: the last instructions gives the option to add up to 58 air intakes, which require drilling .7 mm holes into the deck. This must be done before attaching the decks in the first instruction. There are optional radars, depth charge rack and fire direction equipment. The fit was excellent. It comes with 3 sheets of decals, well more than needed. Overall, a very fun build with a lot of historically accurate detail.
