Your First Rigged Vessel
I've built the Skipjack twice, and once saw a modeler win his category with one at a major IPMS meet. If you ever want to claim you've rigged a vessel, this is where to start. Why? Nothing's easier than fore-and-aft rigging. The furled mainsail will require a bit of reshape. Ship modelers would recommend you replace the main mast with a wood dowel because plastic has too much flex. It's a simple task to chuck the dowel into a drill and grind some taper into it with a sandpaper block. Results, expecially in proportion to effort, will be impressive. It's the only model my wife really likes having in the living room.
