Reviews : Atlantis 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham

This kit's tooling is almost 70 years old. I haven't seen Atlantis' version but I did built the Revell SSP version from 1995 some 30 years ago. It was originally a Revell kit, they did the tooling back in 1957. If you are over sixty and have built a Palmer kit, then you'll know how this goes together. The only difference is the Cadillac actually looks like what it purports to be. Yes, it's effort however it's the only '57 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham committed to plastic. Spend time test fitting, mold line clean up, and patience and you can build a nice replica of a special Cadillac. If you are unwilling to put forth the effort, then this kit is not for you. This is the early days of car modelling.

Flash was moderate and I had one large flash spur from the mold that had to be filed off. Detail was light and lack luster. Body comes in 2 half's, upper and lower half's. Fit was good but did need some adjustments. Instructions were clear but being a curbside kit it isn't saying much. No engine and the the rear axle is molded to chassis. The subject matter is excellent and for the price it's a good kit but be ready to work. I painted the body Ice Blue from House of Color with pearl added. I painted the interior White. It looks good on the shelf but not the best kit. I would only recommend this kit to builders with experence and looking for a shelf piece.

If I could give a zero-star review, that would still be too many stars. How this thing could be called a model kit escapes me. I should have read the reviews before I pulled the trigger and wasted my money. To give you an idea how poor this kit is, it now resides in the trash. I kept the upper body to do some paint experiments and the rest is already at the curb waiting for trash day. I cannot in any way shape or form, recommend this to anybody, unless they want to waste some money.

This kit is a repop of Revell kit #1244. The separate side pieces are the challenge but, if you're an experienced builder, you can get by this. I recommend removing the beltline molding and gluing on Evergreen half round styrene for a clean chrome strip. Overall detail is a little light but, it does build into a really nice Kitty (Caddy) with a little TLC.

The box art is by far the best part of this kit. The body is in two parts and fits poorly. The interior has very little detail and there is no engine. The wheels are hard plastic. Overall this kit is a hot mess and is no where near the quality of other Atlantis kits - don't waste your time!

Not what I expected. But still a nice build when completed. No engine, little detail in interior, molded in red, plastic wheels, some molding flash and body twisting. Test fit parts before gluing. Get a set of custom wheels and tires when ordering. Just a good looking car when done.

Not many parts,no motor ,plastic tires,frame and part of the body is one piece. Maybe 24 to35 parts total not worth the money

I checked the box and it's complete. I just can't wait to start this model!!!!
