Ho, Ho, Ho and a Bottle of Rum
These are pictures of Blackbeard from Atlantis I built. It is a repop of an old Aurora kit from the late '50s. I had done some restoration work for a client and redid the original Aurora kit for him so it made me interested in doing one for myself. When Atlantis released this kit I bought one for exactly that purpose. Overall it is a fairly decent kit considering how old the original was. The parts fit nicely without too much extra work required. It is a very dynamic pose and there were some extras in the form of detailed parts strewn on the deck. I was happy with the results and it won a 2nd place at Jaxcon 2014. If you like nostalgic kits or pirates I would recommend it.
this a aurora kit remastered
This is a kit I built about 45 years ago with old paints. It was fun to build now with the new paints I used, all Vallejo paints, and it looks great. The kit took a long time to build and paint. I do all hand-painting on kits like this. You will need to fill seams as they have gaps. i used plastic putty by Vallejo part #70.401, and it came out nice. Just take your time, and you will have a nice model
Black beard
Been wanting this kit for sometime. Does have a little clean up. Very nice detail. Read a book about black beard. He was not your typical pirate. Wish they would have included a flag. Does have the parts of his flag on the little plaque. Has fewer parts than average but will be a nice build.
Blackbeard the Pirate
It is a nice rendering of Blackbeard the Pirate. Painting was not difficult and it made a good presentation.
