Great Weekend Build
This kit makes for a very attractive build of Tom McEwen's Mongoose dragster and can easily be a weekend build. It also includes an easy to assemble Christmas Tree and a race official. I detailed the race official using craft paint and found the results to be very realistic, especially the molded in facial features. The tree lights are also very easy to detail. Both of these items are an unexpected addition to any kit, especially at this price point. The dragster itself is very easy to assemble. There is a multiple piece frame rail, but it all glues up nicely and is easy to keep square. The decals are very colorful and goes on easily with no decal solvent needed. The engine wiring is also an unexpected addition to this kit. I found the plug wires to be a bit stiff, but they do fit nicely in the designed holes on the engine and requires no super glue. The only thing I found is that the top of the dragster does not fit as snugly to the bottom part as I would have expected. It does not look bad - it just looks like it could drop down about a 16th of an inch to make a cleaner fit.
