Reviews : Academy F15E Strike Eagle USAF Fighter

My first model with academy and my first 1:72 scale was a lot of fun! While on summer vacation in my Grandparent's home in Poland, I made this thing with overall gunship gray paint. I detailed all of the missiles, rockets, bombs, etc...I detailed the exhaust with bronze/silver colors. This was one of my best builds ever! What outstanding quality with academy! The instructions and pieces are very simple and precise to ready very little steps but a lot of fun. Good quality and not very expensive. The issues that I encountered was the bomb load kept on falling off the aircraft because of the design, again turn a/c upside down balance it and glue them one by one, have patience. Also I did not use spray paint so the color came out very good, but not excellent and there were some paint running lines. A delicate item it was then I took it with me back to the US, and had to again glue all of the bombs and some of the wings back on because it broke on the flight after I tried my best packaging it...forgive me Grandparents for taking it back. Almost a decade time passed

Bought this kit thinking that the cockpit was going to be fantastic, but what you really get is decals for the whole thing. Also I'm putting in a dollar of dimes in the cockpit area as this is a tail sitter if you don't. Otherwise it's been a fun build with just a few hiccups in the instructions department. Read and study the illustrations and take your time. Happy modeling.

The Academy 1/72 F-15E is the best 1/72 F-15E on the market! It comes with great surface panel detail and a massive amount of weapons! The only downside is the crappy decal sheet that is included. The decals don't stick which means that you will have to buy a better sheet elsewhere. But I highly recommend this kit to any model builder!
