Reviews : Academy P47D Razorback Fighter

This is the first airplane model I have built in over 40 years. This is a good beginner's kit. All the parts went together with little problem. Very little flash if at all. The canopy did not fit perfectly but it is not apparent unless you look very closely. The decals for this kit were brittle and the checker board decals did not fit worth a flip. Replaced the nose decals with a yellow ring that in the end looks better than the decals if they had fit. In the end I was very pleased with my reintroduction to model planes. Despite the decals I would buy and build another Academy kit.

This model has much good and little bad. The parts fit well with little sanding but only a base cockpit and no pilot. The inst are good and paint chart is good to the decals are easy to cut out but care in place them. with a little work the landing gear can be showen up ore down. The cockpit glass has only the close setting. But a good plane for all.

I enjoyed assembling and painting this kit. It has a nice selection of underwing stores. The Cockpit is fairly well detailed for its size, however everything is hard to see with the closed canopy. Instead of the colors recommended, I went with a modern gray on gray scheme. Not my worst idea. It was a good enjoyable build.

What a great kit. Academy did a fine job with the near perfect fit and the fine recessed panel lines. Yes, the only way to display the canopy is closed. And, the cockpit is just basic. But, those two flaws are easy to overlook. This kit is fine for anyone to build.

Enjoyed this one, No real problems, the landing gear covers were a little hard, not the wheel side but inside but not a major deal. Like the way the landing gear attached with the pin and slot to hold in correct position.

Really nice kit. Fit, detail and decals are excellent. Nice relief on canopy rails for painting. Gear doors fit well in up position after a little cutting. Love that checkerboard tail! Highly recommend!

The p-47raxorback,s alot more powerful than a thunderbolt or wild cat or a corsair in my belief but it's sweet heart I named mine little bad Bethany

Looking forward to build a P47D, will be a added collection.
