Reviews : Academy M1151 Enhanced Armament Carrier

I have been building models for about 10 years. Most of my work was civilian cars, trucks, etc.. This was my first military build. I was not sure what to expect from this type of build. since my favorite part of car and tuck building is engine and drive train I was worried this would not compare and I would not be happy. Upon opening the kit. I immediately knew that I was NOT going to have a problem enjoying this build. Fortunately for me there is a suspension and drivetrain build so it was almost a light transition if you will. the thing I liked the most was that there is no complete body included. You have to build it yourself. Leading to TONS of options when building this kit. I honestly took this thing apart and changed the way it look maybe 5 times. I love this kit. and to tell the truth, I actually am thinking about putting it in my cart and buying another!!! the great thing about Humvee's is if you do a little research you can turn this into anything you want, any kind of paint job, and tons of extra parts available online or make your self. This was my gateway kit into building nothing but modern military. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

The kit starts with 2 instruction books. First one is 8 pages long and the second is 3 pages. The second list your parts, decal placement and painting. I decided on sand yellow. I like to highlight the details with a wash. Pros: So much detail inside and outside of the cab. No engine but still a lot of detail on the underside. Decals went on ok. Cons: Had problems with the front grill not aligning up with the hood. Also had problems getting the right location for the air breather. The instructions seem short on the exact location on some of the items. So double check all parts before gluing. The Humvee looks great. I enjoyed the build. Thinking about buying the kit again. This kit is for experienced builders only.

This kit is just awesome. Only one problem the drivers Legs are huge. Meaning something is off scale, but it doesn't look like the issue is the model. It may be the fire wall in the cab is further away than it should be? Everything else is a dream. Still working on putting this together and so far this model for the exception of one figures lower half being larger than scale this model rates a 6 out of 5 stars. I'm not rushing putting much together as I have brass etched parts coming for this kit. It's too awesome highly recommend.

This model overall is a great model and has some different options for the turret and gun,has option to have doors open or closed and also has figures that u can use if u choose to use them the only issue I had was with the comms antenna on the rear, I had to use one of the gas cans to hold it in place for it too look right and I couldn't for the life of me get the rings on it , but overall a great and easy model and would really recommend to anyone that wants one

Excellent modeling experience. Thankfully no engine to mess with; the undercarriage has plenty of little parts that were a challenge. Dashboard is detailed enough to make decorating it worthwhile and rewarding with the decals.

love the first build of this bought another one detail great parts when together well very nice, detailed interior as well for exterior put with my Bradley and us dessert store miniature's will post pics later.

This was a really fun build. Parts fit together well and are sturdy. I used accessories from the Modern Accessories kit by Tamiya which added some really cool realism.

Most parts had good fit, the hinges for the doors were a complete failure, but that was probably my fault. Instructions were good and overall this was a good build.

I had a great time with this build. The detail and fit of parts are great. Would most definitely be recommending this one.

One of the best Humvee model I have worked on. A lot of detail and room for expansion.
