Fine Tank
Academy did a great job on the molding for this tank. There was almost no flash to clean. The tracks were finely detailed and molded in sections. They went together nicely with the well-constructed running gear. The turret parts had good detailing and fit together nicely. The hull was nicely detailed but a drawback was the glacis plate did not meet with the lower hull. I needed to do a fair amount of grinding in hidden areas inside the idler wheels to get top and bottom matched up. Another drawback was the fitting of the active armor plates. Some of those required some trimming of the plate edges or removal of entire plates to get them all to fit properly around surface fixtures. I enjoyed assembling this model immensely and I painted it as shown on the box cover. I will buy another one to complete without the active armor. If you are interested in post-WW2 armor, you will not be disappointed in this kit. Great kit, great price!
