BF109G
Academy has done a multitude of single engine WWII planes. The look accurate, are easy to build and are inexpensive. This is one of those. I think they are better than the comparable Hasagawa, but not as good as the new Airfixes. I enjoyed building this, it was a good break between more complex kits. I had aslo gotten some weathering templates, so I used this kit to test them out. I had problems with the tulip petal decals and gave up on them. That was on me, the other decal worked fine. I t was a fun kit to build.
Erich Hartmann´s winter Bf-109G, what else?
Erich Hartmann is the number one ace in aerial combat history with 352 victims in WWII (russians mostly), what better way to honor him than building one of his most remembered planes, this Bf-109G6 (most books says it´s a G6! sorry), winter, early 1945.
The kit it´s easy to assemble and has a very good level of detail. The decals are very good, according to the level of complexity this winter airplane indeed has, especially the tulip nose. It was fun to build.
