The AFV Club 1/35 SdKfz 251/22 'Pakwagen' is a highly detailed model kit of this vehicle. If built with care and attention to details, it can result in a finished half track that will look just as good as the more expensive Dragon version of this vehicle. When building this kit, I noticed that essential parts to make an accurate gun assembly and gun platform were included in the kit, but the instructions did not show where on these assemblies these parts were supposed to be installed. I had to look at on line images of the completed Dragon version to figure it out. Another issue I encountered were some major gap issues between the upper and lower hull parts. I had to use Micro Krystal Klear as a gap filler. I used a moistened cotton swab to wipe away the excess material. The kit includes an aluminum main gun barrel and two pre formed gun shield parts that are connected together with tiny plastic bolt pieces. A magnifying glass and some precision tweezers will be required here. This kit also comes with a bonus sprue of small arms parts, allowing the builder to add either a MG 34 or an MG 42 to the mount at the rear of the vehicle. Decals to make one of two paint schemes are provided. Application of paint by an airbrush is highly recommended. This kit is recommended for intermediate to advanced model builders with airbrushing skills.

I would recommend this kit for the average builder. I am disappointed that the box was not sealed and the metal barrel was missing. I hope that this is not a continuing problem with future orders.
