An aging fiddley kit that’s so much fun to build
By: jcharry
This kit is showing its age with some minor issues like flashing on the parts and some fit issues but they can be easily dealt with. I built. Mine just like the box art but I think the true allure of this kit is all the options you can built it as. You have your choice of stock, custom or pro street with two engines to build three ways. You’re only limited to what your imagination can come up with. Even though I had to remove some material around the wheel wells of the interior tub to get a proper fit and add styrene tabs inside to keep the rear door from falling in I still give it five stars because the outcome you get from a kit this old is fantastic. I bought a second to do in something that would have been local to me back in the day. I highly recommend!
Beautiful Kit
The livery presented on this car is immaculate. The two tone paint scheme is very fitting for the year of the car. I like the solid red livery option and it is very colorful for the coke livery. It brings out the vintage finish of the car. The whitewall tires are a nice touch for this car. This will be a nice challenge for me as a builder and will help me start on car modeling and will compliment the airplane models that I build. I look forward to putting this kit together. I have noted no flaws with the kit. I recommend this kit.
A Decent Kit
If your kit is like mine, be prepared to use a heat gun to form some of the parts. Also, do yourself a favor a use a good primer to cover the yellow mold plastic. All in all, I was pleased with the result. I went off the rails a bit and turned it into Surf Wagon.
