Be Patient
Received this as a father's day gift and this was my first large scale build. Only two negatives: 1) You will need to take your time to sand the mold lines off the front fenders. This is a must since they are so prevalent it will mess up your paint job. 2) the rear tail light panel needs some sanding to fit tight against the body. Also, I found it works best if you glue that part from the underside of the body. Overall, the kit was fun to build and has lots of details like opening doors (that were very easy to assemble) and spark plug wires for the engine. I ended up hand painting the whitewall tires using multiple coats of acrylic paint. The sidewalls are branded Firestone so this gave a more realistic appearance than the white solid plastic rings in the kit.

The 1957 Ford Thunderbird Amt Snap Kit of the early 60s was my first model and what got me started in the hobby. When I saw it available in 1/16 scale I had to Have it and ended up building it and the rest of the Amt 1/16 Model line back in the late 70s early 80s now it is time i built it and them again and recreate the full model collection of the Amt 1/16 scale models along with a few others too. I am Looking forward to buying it and building it again in the near future.Have fun .
Fun Build
There are some fitnent issues. For me, this just adds to the fun. Looking at the fabulous builds our friends have shared with us here, I feel there is the chance I may be able to overcome these issues if I take my time and work on it. I recommend this kit. The kit includes ignition wires and radiator lines. Plenty of options for customization and extra detailing. I hope I can do it justice. Lol. Cars are not my strongest genre.

Love these large models. Lots of detailing. Easy to build with very little flashing. I like the opening doors. I've built several of these 1/16 models & have enjoyed each one. I definitely recommend this model.
Terrible mold lines
On a bigger scale kit like this I expect a little kore quality and detail. The mold lines on this were horrendous! A lot of body work is needed to get it looking right.

This is an awesome kit. It’s my first 1/16 build. Taking my time and enjoying the work I’m putting into it. If your thinking of doing a 1/16 , I recommend you do
