Reviews : AMT 1969 Ford Torino Cobra Fastback Car

I'll admit that I am a bit fussy and so my disappointment for this kit may not be warranted but the facts are the facts. The rear axle housing/springs/driveshaft is molded into the chassis/floor pan. The old screw bosses are present at the radiator support, and a very small radiator is molded into the body. Little engine room detail. Headlights are integral with the bunper/grille (no clear lenses.) You could build this as a stock-car with all the nice additions for that purpose but you'll need to go into your stash for major sponsor and big numeral decals. The interior tub appears a bit weak on detail and the decal sheet is devoid of guage faces. The bright side: nice little GOODYEARs printed on the stock tires and there's no hole in the oil pan (WHOO-HOO!) (though it's part of the block halves) They give you plastic pins to attach the front wheels instead of a metal axle. There are 3 styles of exhaust headders/manifolds and choice of intakes (1 or 2 quads). There will be some nice extra parts left over. I can be happy with this kit if I don't let the chassis bother me and with a few added details and some careful detail painting on the bottom.....it could be half-way decent. I will definitely be re-working the radiator support to remove the screw bosses and make it look more like it should.

This model was a real handful, a little challenging. Wasn't impressed with Nascar options, not that I had any intent of building it that way. I found my interior tub was twisted from factory had get heat gun out and eventually got it to lay right. as you'll notice on most all pics the wheel wells don't line up with tries (not center in wells). The Hood dosen't lay flat so must be little twisted, or the body is. I don't want keep complaining I did kind of enjoy challenges. I had my own paint issue the finish didn't come out well, pictures hide allot. One of few models I had no problem installing the windows. The interior was nice and actually the way factory was. This was closest replica to actual car. If you like the Torino this is nice kit. TEST FIT AS MUCH AS YA CAN

I'm not sure where to start on this kit. I guess the PRO is that it can be coaxed into a nice looking Torino with plenty of clamps, rubber bands and super glue. The pad printed tires are nice looking, if AMT could just make a wheel that fits their tires. Decals are nice at least. My chassis and body were warped thus the clamps and rubber bands were a necessity to try and get a good fit. Engine and engine bay extremely lacking in detail. I cut the chassis locating pins off to try and align the tires in the center of wheel wells. Kit has no mirrors included inside or out. I would not recommend for a starter model.

I gave this one 3 stars because of the molded in suspension, heavy mold seams in hard to clean up places on the body like where the roof meets the 1/4 panel, bucket type interior with sidewalls molded to the floor , & headlights molded into the grill YUK....Soso engine.. Now the seperate exhaust is cool, the seats, dash tires & decals are very ice.. Body looks good once you get past the mold seams..All in all this is a lets see what you can do with it kit.. Suitable for beginners..

This one's been around for a while and it shows. You will have a bit of flash to remove before starting, but nothing overly bad. It generally goes together well, but you will have to make an adjustment to the wheelbase for proper fit. It's a bit of a challenge, but was still an enjoyable build, and I am happy with my final outcome.

Multiple building options including a NASCAR race car choice with full roll cage, racing seat, different dash, center console cover, and racing tires. Big 428 V8 with different intake and exhaust options. I like that the exhaust was not molded into the chassis. Fun build that went together nicely.

I enjoyed this kit. With options for a nascar build, I chose to do Wendell scott. I will buy again for David Person and a Cale Yarborough cars. Kit was easy!

Nice Torino it turned out really nice nice detail highly recommend
