I figured this was a promo style kit, and it is. But this time it is not a bad thing. It does have 2 metal axles so you know that is a oil pan with the void in it. I can live with that, how else can you get a 64 marauder? The interior is the tub type but only the back seat is built in.But that is the lows. Now the good or great parts. As of now i really see no mold lines on the body, not saying there are not any, they may nit show until primed. There is some flash nothing major mostly all below the belt line, none on top. What really like is the water slide decals. Not just goofy art pieces. Has dash, looks like 2 types for air cleaner, and body scripts. Of course you get the funky interior parts, a phone and a in car record player. I would say one of the nicer promo style kits. And there is a surf board. Really a nice kit.
Not the best experience
I bought this kit at a club meeting with cash so no receipt. Upon opening the box I immediately noticed the warped body. What a downer. Then after further inspection I found a sink hole in the passenger side front fender. I confronted the manufacture and they said they would replace the body but wanted proof of purchase. without a reciept I was forced to pay s/h. I figured I would make the best of it and build what I had. The instructions looked like they were from 1964. If AMT is going to reissue a kit they should update their instructions. Even after these struggles, I'm actually pretty happy with my overall result.
AMD Mercury Marauder
I was surprised at the excessive amount of flash on this kit. Also, there was a black mark on the right front fender, which I didn't pay much attention to. Later, after painting the car, I discovered the plastic was marred, and there was an extreme dent near the front edge of the fender. I wonder if the manufacturer new it was a defect and bagged it anyway. It's still a great looking car, but is a bit of a challenge to build.
Marvelous Marauder!

This is a 3 in 1 kit that can be built stock, custom or racing. I decided to build my version as a slightly modified stock car by adding different wheels, tires, and dual carbs. The kit comes with a choice of bucket seats and a lot of customizing parts. It is a fun kit to build and I plan on building the custom version in the future. Keep on building models!
Nice easy build
Good molding very little flash. Some modification on driver front to get bumper/grill to fit properly (rubber band needed). Other wise clean easy build. many optiond for engine, tires and wheels, interior and style Stock, Custom or racing. I built this one stock will do the next one as a custom then a race version.
