The AMT 1968 Plymouth Road Runner is a classic muscle car kit that delivers a lot of nostalgic charm while still giving builders room to customize and improve details. Overall, it’s a versatile kit that can appeal to both experienced modelers and anyone who grew up building AMT kits decades ago. One of the best aspects of this kit is its versatility. The parts layout allows the builder to go fairly stock or add custom touches without much trouble. The body contours are well captured—the distinctive, slightly aggressive shape of the ’68 Road Runner comes through nicely once the body is painted and polished. The decal sheet is also a highlight, with clean printing and good options that really help bring the car to life. The engine detail is another strong point. The kit provides a solid representation of the big-block powerplant, with enough molded detail to look convincing even without heavy aftermarket upgrades. There are a few areas where the tooling shows its age. The steering wheel connection is weak and really benefits from being pinned. The interior tub also has some spacing issues; when assembled, small details such as the window cranks end up partially disappearing behind the corners of the dashboard. Finally, the bumpers are not molded as crisply as they could be and required extra cement and careful fitting to sit properly against the body.

Good kit,remove 1/16 from top of interior side panels if you want to use side windows.i always drill out molded chrome headlights and scratch build my own rims&tires&slicks from other AMT kits.had to narrow front rims,this car was sponsored by dealership just a few miles from my home in buffalo N Y

This kit is an outstanding kit. Great detail and so far it has been trouble free in putting it together. AMT done well on this model. Pictures will be coming soon.

Nice kit. Not a lot of parts good kit for beginners.
