Reviews : AMT 1953 Ford Pickup Truck

This is an excellent model kit. Build the iconic mid-fifties F100 in multiple ways without kit bashing parts. This comes with enough options to build a completely bone stock truck, or a flat out heavily modified custom, or something in between. There are 3 grilles, 3 bumper options, 3 wheel options, 2 mirror options, air horns, cab markers, lowered or stock suspension heights, multiple ways to plumb the exhaust, factory flathead V8 or a Hemi either carbonated or with mechanical injection, custom rear fenders, custom lights, pickup bed cover, custom mirrors, welding tanks and tools with the decals to build shop truck, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. I chose to build a mostly stock but mildly customized service truck, but I really want to get a few more so I can do a factory fresh build and a modified show truck. This is a blast to build too...the parts are well machined and fit together nicely, and the instructions are very detailed. I highly recommend this over the Monogram '55 F100 Street Rod (which I've also built). There are many more options here the quality is simply better.

And I mean that in a very good way. Round 2 does a great job with this one. Since it was a 3n1 build, custom, service truck or stock, it had all kind of goodies to go with it. The kit has two complete engines; the 239 Ford flathead V8 or the 392 power house that could be carbureted or fuel injected. Either engine was great, and the flathead is really, really nice. The overall molding is very nice, and the fit is pretty good. Of course, it had the warped frame which means twist and hold to get all the feet on the ground. But, the kit for its age, is nice and the possibilities to customize it are really limitless. The windshield is so thick it appears to be prescription glass and it features metal axles for wheel attachments which would be concerning for purists. I think it’s well worth the money.

I love this truck it is a great addition to my truck dioramas and garages I love building trucks and this one definitely has a lot of different ways you could build it and that’s the beauty of this truck you can chose to lift it lower it keep it stock height or what ever else you can imagine I definitely am going to put another one in our stash and you can not complain about the price on this truck Pros: easy on the wallet, Very detailed, nicely casted, lots of possibilities, great for dioramas CONS: minimal flash if you are thinking of picking up this kit then do it it is a lot of fun to build this kit and you will have a lot of fun with it and it will look good for dioramas or whatever you want to make it for

I love this kit it is awesome so much fun to build I am a huge truck fanatic and this kit is a very good asset to my dioramas as I can use it for many thing Work truck, Show truck, Daily driver etc this truck will work for any diorama and garage very nice details on this truck I had an awesome time building it and definitely want to get more and build them in different ways PROS: No flash, Very accurate, Nice casting 10-10 stars for sure on this kit if you are thinking about getting this kit you should really consider it as it will look good in you diorama or garage and will also look like a part of what you are using it to do

I can NOT remember how many times Iv'e bought this kit The options are too many to list. If you cant build something out of this kit then your box isn't opened. It comes with a flat head V8 and a Hemi. The flat head is pretty much stock, tho nicely detailed. The Hemi on the other hand is loaded with goodies. Iv'e built this kit stock 3 times just to have the Hemi for another build. The instruction are well done but can get a little confusing with all of the options listed on the sheet. I would highly recommend this kit to all builders.

This kit is a pleasure, with a multitude of extra parts for many optional styles. Custom fenders, horns and lights, 3 different grill/bumper packages and a great set of multiple wheel and tire options make it fun. The fit is excellent as well, nary a problem there. After some initial sanding and flash removal, you'll have fun with this one. I have purchased another already, as there are so many extra parts that come with it. The welding tanks and tools give it a great added detail.

As most of the reviews have said this is a very good kit that you can use your imagination and create a very custom show piece. I am about finished with mine and I have customized it pretty radical. Lowered suspension, and I cut the top off to make it a convertible!!! I added a single exhaust stack too with a custom exhaust system. Pictures will be posted once I am done. Highly suggest purchasing this kit....the options are endless!!!

I picked this one up for my birthday and was not disappointed. With the exception of one spot on the engine compartment and front frame, everything went together smoothly. There are so many options with this that no two builds have to be alike. I combined all three to make a semi-stock, semi-service all custom truck! Of the 8 kits I've built in the past year, this was by far the smoothest build!

This is a nice kit of a classic truck. This kit comes with many options so you can build it stock, custom, or service. The kit was well engineered and went together without any problems. I did add a extra detail with the roll bar and lights. I would definitely recommend this kit for anyone who wants a classic truck model in their collection.

Theres literally 1 3/4 trucks in the box. Basically another cab and hood and another chassis and you could use the leftovers to make a 2nd. 2 different bed side options, 3 different front ends, really cool white walls, and some accesories like wrenches and a torch set. Your head will spin thinking of which parts to use. So many possibilities

I wonder why I didn’t build this earlier. It’s the kind of kit that you can do time and again and get something different each time. Lots of extra parts and options will keep you interested. Interior lacks details but I understand aftermarket upgrades are now available. Be patient and have fun!

A very nicely done kit. The only cleanup was some seam lines on a few parts,and they all went together well. I can't speak for ALL the parts because there are so many options you can't use them all. Lots of nice leftovers for the parts box no matter how you decide to build it.

Yet another great AMT kit. Everything fit just like it’s supposed to. Tons of room for modifications and plenty of extras in the kit to help pull it off. My kit had very little flash and no mold lines to speak of. You can’t go wrong picking this one up.

Had to really sit and weigh the options on this kit. There are so many ways to build this kit. I have to stock up on several more to build them all. This is the way model kits should be. Recommend this kit to everyone. Just an all around great model.

This AMT kit has a pretty detailed chassis.Its a pretty good build.There are a few custom options but would make a nice stock version too.It has a nice set of chromed and baby moon wheels and some thick whitewalls.

I've heard mixed reviews on this kit, some love it, some hate it, but what do you want for 60's technology, one thing I don't like is the lack of interior detail, all the goodies are a plus though..

I really enjoyed building this kit. It was the first in many years and it rekindled the hobby for me, It may be a Level 2 but it was still a bit of a challenge. I'm on model #20 now and loving it.

This one went together pretty smooth overall. I had to modify a few things but that is expected. It comes with a lot of extras to the possibilitys are endless.

Fun to build so many options. 2 complete v8 engines and extra parts for the parts bin. This is another model you need to buy more than one at a time.

The PADRE is good for the LAST SACREMENT FOR SURE. My brown & brown big black wheel 1953 FORD flathead V8 pickup truck is good for EVERYTHING ELSE

This kit has lots of options to build with.Lots of extras to put in dioramas.And the truck makes for a good build.This is one of arts better kits
