Right out of the gate – I really recommend this model. The detail is really nice and it builds up into a beautiful example of a beautiful car! I will go over the negatives first; there is an annoying amount of flash on some parts. The instructions are vague and at least one part is mismarked (45 is actually 43). The instructions are also a bit iffy on the placement of some parts – you have to internet search the actual car get them right. Some of the decals are also improperly marked, so you have to plan ahead. The clear window parts are also a bit sub-standard – but nothing that a dip in Future won’t fix). Now, the fun part – the fit of the parts is excellent. The detail is really, REALLY nice. The decals, while mismarked, are actually really nice. And the front end features posable wheels. Plus, you have some options to customize the car. In sum, this model is worth the money – period.

OVERALL A NICE KIT! REALLY ENJOYED THE BUILD! I HAVE A DISEASE WHEREAS I CANT JUST LEAVE A MODEL TOTALLY BOX STOCK= I MUST CHANGE SOMETHING, IN THIS CASE I ADDED BUCKET SEATS AND BIGGER REAR SLICKS! THE ORIGINAL SLICKS WERE A BIT ON THE WIMPY SIDE AND VERY NARROW. I DID HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE RIGHT COMBINATION OF INNER WHEELS TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. GET READY WITH THE SILVER PAINT OR CHROME FOIL AS THIS CAR HAS A TON OF CHROME TRIM! THE WINDOWS FIT VERY NICELY AND HAVE A LARGE FLANGE TO GLUE ON. I ALSO ADDED A SMALL PLASTIC DISC TO THE BOTTOM OF THE REAR SPRINGS TO GET A LITTLE EXTRA LIFT= STILL NOT AS MUCH AS I WANTED, AND IF YOU WANT THE JACKED UP LOOK ON THIS KIT YOU MUST MAKE SOME SUSPENSION MODIFICATIONS DO NOT TRUST THE BOX ART IT DOESN'T SIT LIKE THE PICTURES. THE INTERIOR HAD ALLOT OF DEFINITION. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS KIT HOWEVER NOT FOR THE INEXPERIENCED MODELLER!

Excellent kit. This kit was a fun build. Clean up was a snap - a light sanding was all it needed. Instructions were clear but there was one miss marked part but that was all. The details were spot on. I added engine wires and fuel lines. Parts fit was great the only problem was in final assembly, I had to trim the rear glass just a bit but it was nothing major. I used bare metal foil for the trim and also used Photo etched parts on the body for the emblems. I painted it Red and Silver exterior and Red interior. I would recommend this kit to modelers with a couple of kits under their belts. All in all an excellent kit.

I work in a Southern California Hot Rod and Classic Car shop. We had a good customer bring in his Tasco Turquoise Impala for repair of some moderate body damage. This color was only available for 1961 Corvettes and Impalas. I just HAD to replicate this car... This kit is the EXCELLENT basis for my 1:25 Scale rendition. HIGHLY recommended!...

Very well made kit. Very, very detailed in all areas. Great fitting parts, with minimal amount of flashing. This is the kind of model I love to build. I highly recommend this kit to any one who loves to do detail work and wants the challenge. Great addition to a model builders collection.

I thought this kit was older and might have some issues but was very pleased with the whole thing. No fit issues that a pass or two with a file didn't take care of, and very clean molding. Good detail to interior and engine and chassis. Very happy with this kit.

Little flash, good fitment.The trim lines are well defined, which tells me it wasn't an old mold. I hope AMT upgrades their other models molds as I've had significant trouble with most of their other models.

Just finished body paint, metallic red. Thinking goldish yellow or maybe a soft pink for interior, haven't made up my mind yet. Kit looks clean with very little flashing. I will post photos soon.

Very happy with this kit! Love the body lines on the 61 impala. Amt always coming out with great kits with very nice detail as well. Build it muscle car or build it a Lowrider!

Nice clean kit very little flash and warpage. Good detail engine, interior and choice of wheels and tires. I will build another one, looks good on the shelf. Have fun.

Enjoying building this model. It went together well. It was very easy to flip the front spindles to lower the front end.

This car is one I will remember, my father had one when I was in high school.
