I had a friend who knows I build models ask me if they made a model of the car from her favorite show Supernatural . I did some research online and found out it's a 1967 Chevrolet Impala. I found this kit on this site, and bought it. My research said the car is black, and there were 2 different interior colors used on the show. One car was all black, and the other was black seats with a tan interior. She said she wanted the all black version, so I then started on the kit. The kit is very well engineered with very little flash to clean up. The instructions were very clear with a paint guide for all the pieces, and also a list of all of the interior and exterior colors used that year. The kit went together with no difficulty. The only confusing thing was they showed pieces that go between the firewall and engine, but tell you not to install them until the body is on the chassis. I guess there was a problem they found after they wrote the instructions, as I did as they requested and I didn't have any problems. I did request the company to make a actually kit from the show. Now my only problem is now I have to build a second one!

Many of the details of this kit are spot on. Very good compared against many pictures that I found of 67 Impala SS 427's. The way that many items fit, however had much to be desired. When I put the body onto the frame and chassis, many of the assembled engine components had to be reassembled. Some of that may be my modeling abilities, but the designers should put the kit together to assemble well, not with difficulty. Also it could use some quality control on the assembly instructions. The directions said to put the steering box in on step 5, but showed it on step 3. Also, simple stuff but, let's get it together: The instructions say to paint the engine Chrysler red. This is a Chevy. The color is Chevy orange! My eyes and my hands are not what they once were, but this kit leaves much to be desired. The quality of a kit and a build should be as much responsibility of the designer and manufacturer as the builder.

What I have found with AMT kits, the lowest priced kits should be avoided. Once you get into the next price level and beyond, AMT kits are quite good. I do like this kit but it only builds a stock car, no extra parts. The detail is great and pretty accurate to the real car. Some discussion about directions not being clear showing steering box, heater hose and brake cylinder. They show them out of order for placement purpose but need to be installed after body is attached to the chassis. I had to trim/file the engine bay fender wells to get upper A arms to fit properly and make clearance for the alternator, other then that everything else fits well. I've painted mine black on black (classic combo). I added some headers and custom wheels for a slight resto look. I will post pictures once done.

A very nice kit from AMT, including separate door panels and frame. The molded in details are very nice and crisp, and the chrome tree looks very good. Most of the parts fit together very well with only a couple of areas of concern. The lower windshield may need to be trimmed for firewall and dash clearance, and attention needs to be paid to the front at final assembly for getting the frame and engine bay to fit flush to ensure a proper front stance. Some gauge decals, and maybe front fender badge decals would have been welcomed, but those areas can be carefully detailed by hand. Careful planning ahead on the areas mentioned should yield a very nice replica. My only true complaint is the quality of the tires included in the kit. A set of upgraded pad-printed tires would be most welcomed!

This was a must have to add to my Impala collection and it turned out really well. There are some things that I would have like to seen included in the kit, such as script decals, gauge decals and some pad printed tires would have been the icing on the cake. I glued my firewall to the body, did not see in the instructions that it should have been attached to the interior assembly. Turned out not to be a problem at all come time to mount the chassis to the body. I did not attach the fan belt assembly and alternator to the motor till after attaching body to chassis, tough to get into position but it would have been broken off in that step anyway.

I'm modeling this car for a future movie based on a thriller faith-based novel I will b writing sometime in the near future! Since I couldn't find a '68 Chevy Impala hardtop custom kit (warning: SPOILER ALERTS!!; The hardtop custom will actually b included in the novel.)Plus I will b writing a backstory to Mineral County, titled AN INCUBUS BEHIND THE WHEEL(2 b aka TERROR IN THE MILLCREEK VALLEY) Which will involve a'68 Chevelle malibu as an unusual suspect vehicle. The backstory will play out similarly to 1990's WHEELS OF TERROR; but only better.Will also model the Chevelle as based on that featured vehicle as well.

I really would recommend this kit. It might have some age on it, but it is well-engineered, fits together well and looks pretty darn cool when finished. Unfortunately, I had to scratch build a hood because the original was twisted pretty badly. The engine is really nice, the interior is actually well detailed and the overall fit of the body on the frame is tight. This kit was pretty close to flawless, except for limited decals (no instrument dashboard) but did include for the crossed racing flags and blinkers. You will have fun building it and you will be proud of the results. Worth every nickel!

This is a straight forward kit. Clean up was light - just a good sanding was all it took. Instructions were well done and accurate. Details were spot on for a 67 Impala. I detailed the engine with wires, hoses and linkage. Added fuel lines and shifter linkage. The only con I found was the ride height, so a little adjustment was required. I painted it Blue Color Shift over Black and the interior was painted Blue with flocking. I really loved this kit and it is a must have for any Impala collector. I would highly recommend this kit to all builders.

This is a really nicely detailed and molded kit with plenty of parts. The kit has a separate chassis frame aside from the undercarriage. You will need to research to paint the lower side chrome trim and the black paint under it properly. Will need to black wash the front and rear chrome pieces to make it more realistic.

Was on sale here and I couldn't resist it. Clean molding no twisting or flash. has some options for engine and wheels. I used the 427 engine with every thing else stock. looks good in the cabinet with the other impalas. Will have to get another I feel a street rod coming soon. Could be a nice build for a beginner.

the car builds up great and looks good. there are a couple of issues to be aware of. you may have a hard time getting the body on with the heater hoses and steering shaft on and the steering linkage didn't fit very well. all in all it turned out good.

Built this kit for myself but ended up gifting it out to a huge impala fan in my life. With that being said the kit went together with no issues and was a joy to build. Will be buying another one in the near future to turn into a low rider style build.

Enjoyed this one. Nice clean molds, haven't had any major fit issues except what I caused for myself with the engine and interior modifications I've made. A little extra time and effort pays off in the end result.

Great kit to build with very nice detail on this 1967 Impala! I built mine as a lowrider with pegasus deep D's wire wheels! Beautiful kit for the collection especially if your into American muscle and lowriders.

Went together fairly well. Not as many fitment/flash issues as I have experienced in the past with AMT kits. I did a black on black on black version,shaved and lowered and am happy with the overall results.

no pro's or con's when I get done with it ,it will be fully detailed and shinning purty! Thank You, Roy Phoenix

One of my all time favorite kits. I've had many different issues throughout the years. Everything fits well. Great detail. Will be getting more in the future for sure!

I built this one straight stock, painted to match my uncle's real one. The kit was pretty good quality, no major problems, just some sanding to do in pre fitting.

Built this kit years ago and from what I remember it was a pretty good kit. I’m excited to build it again when I decide to crack mine open.

Very nice kit. A bit of clean up needed, nothing major. Good instructions. Wish it had a regular stock hood. Builds into a very nice SS.
