Reviews : Aerotech G64-7W 29/40-120 Reload Motor Kit

The AeroTech G64W reloads for the RMS 29/40-120 motor case are excellent mid-power motors and one of my favorites. I have used them many times and will continue to do so. The White Thunder propellant formula provides very good Isp (more bang for your buck) and an impressive launch with a deep throaty roar, brilliant white exhaust plume, and thick white smoke. They always make the crowd turn and watch. Just be aware, these are not like little black powder motors for a school yard launch. These are serious motors for serious rocketeers. They are a great motor to help you learn what you need to know to transition to high-power rocketry. I used them in my scratch built 38mm rocket when I was learning dual-deploy techniques and regularly hit altitudes over 1,700 feet. I'm NAR L2 certified and working on my L3 project now, but I still love these motors for my local rocket club's low-power launch events.

I've used G64's for approximately 25 years, and it's a great motor. The thrust curve of the G64 is nearly perfect in my opinion. It hits hard and can have a 2-pound rocket moving at very stable speeds (45 ft/sec) at the end of a 5 or 6 foot launch rod. After the initial punch, the thrust tapers off due to the C-slot grain design, providing a nice, long sustaining thrust. The only downside I've encountered with White Lightning propellant is that it can be difficult to ignite at times. A thermalite booster can be helpful in this case.

Flew rocket (Madcow DX3) to 1300 ft +. I'm limited to medium power engines, so this is a upper end engine. Starting to enjoy being able to watch the complete flight, from launch to landing...you can't go wrong with Aerotech engines. Solved my problems with CATO'S !!!!

Has to be one of the best 'bang for the bucks' reloadable 29 mm motors, in my opinion! The White Lightning propellant produces a big, bright white flame and lots of smoke! And a nice very audible sound as soon as it ignites! One of my favorites.

This is actually pretty good for its price. It's refillable so technically it can be used forever or until it breaks. So far I've refilled this 7 times and used it 7 times. It doesn't look to be breaking any time soon.

This motor is awesome! Had a great flight in my upgraded Doorknob. I would recommend this motor to anyone that loves launching mid power rockets.
