Killer little bird!
By: jayorr (Utah)
If you are coming out of black power rocketry, you are in for a thrill! Composite rocket motors are a world of difference from Estes. Don't get me wrong, I have fun flying D motors. Especially in snow when you can leave the chute out. Try this rocket. Put a G80 in it. Stand back and be AMAZED! This bird is easy and straight forward to build. My Mom could do it. It is a durable sleek little rocket. When the man says 3500', believe it! One real advantage over other rockets is the ejection gas cooling system. It is slick and it really works. When you are dealing with larger diameters, ejection wadding becomes fiberglass insulation, and a lot of flights adds considerable debris to your launch site. Too cool to do away with it completely. I love my Mustang, it is a flying ANIMAL!
Great rocket

The build on this rocket is easy, with the fin mounting system it's actually a bit easier than some Estes rockets. The baffle system (which is in most Aerotech kits) is a nice feature which removes the need for wadding.
I've flown the rocket once, on a E16-7 reloadable. I had my doubts about it, as the rocket is heavier than you'd usually fly on an E. But it flew like a charm. if you're ever going to fly it on a G, be prepared for a hike to recover it. This is an excellent first composite engine model.
Good Rocket
Have recently got back into model rockets, use to do all the time as a kid. This rocket just seems to better constructed in comparison to the Estes I grew up on.
