This is a very interesting set from Airfix, it's intended to provide a wide variety of Vehicles and items from a RAF Bomber base from ca. 1943. Included in the box are the following: a Bedford MW chassis, with two bodies so it can be finished as: an MWC water truck or an MWD cargo and personnel carrier; a Standard 12 hp 4x2 truck (“Tilly”); a David Brown VIG 1 Tractor/aircraft tug; a 450 gallon petrol bowser trailer; three bomb trolleys, a BSA M20 500cc motorcycle; a mobile maintenance platform trailer; a bicycle; 6 x 1000 lb MC bombs; 6 x 500 lb MC bombs; one 4000 lb HC bomb; one 8000 HC lb bomb; six SBC small bomb containers; 6 x wheel chocks, one ladder, 3 x “jerry” cans, a 55 gallon oil drum, and a mechanic’s tool kit. The level of detail in general is superb, for example, the motorbike is a little work of art, formed in three pieces and positionable front forks, this is a great extra. It also has very clever design of some pieces (e.g. The entire doors of the car and truck are clear, eliminating the need for gluing windows in so there’s no risk of getting white glue lines around the window). The instructions are step by step, with big, clear and precise graphics and then two pages of color finishing and marking directions, making it almost impossible to get lost in there! Decals are excellent and add realism to the kits. The building process was a real pleasure. This really is a stunning set at a great price, the details and clever design add great realism in a small scale. Of course, you can also combine the vehicles from it with human personnel and other aircraft models (like a Lancaster bomber) and make a really cool diorama. Highly recommended!

I found this item at Hobbylinc when it was back ordered everywhere else. It arrived in good time and excellent condition. I love the product--nice moulds, good fit (so far), and the subject is wonderful. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that the kit should really come with some figures. The product isn't much use without figures. The vehicles and equipment are not intrinsically interesting--it's people who make them interesting. And the Airfix RAF Personnel is currently unavailable.
