The kit when done presents itself very well with working torpedo tube doors and the option of making the boat waterline or full hull. the detail is quite good especially after you string the railings. The down side is the hull the underwater hull is 1 piece but above the waterline the hull is in 3 pieces 2 sides and the stern it goes together well enough but will require puddy later. the deck will leave some gaps also there is a lot of window platic so don't swear the windows they are fairly big and your mistakes will show especially in the deck house. getting the parts from the sprew will require a good knife especially the small parts like handles and railings. i built this when it was a mpc kit and yes in the tub it went surprise she floats without ballast!!! score! but this kit is really for show not the tub.

The plastic in this kit seemed soft compared to other brand kits. Some flash and some parts are very delicate and hard to remove from sprue without damage. I hard some problem getting all the windows to fit right, but with time and filiing got them in place. I will admit that I still enjoyed building this kit. It finished at 17 inches long.
