Good passenger cars
Bought two of these and a combine for a fictional short line my son and I are building. Good cars. We took them apart and are painting them up, but details are decent, the trucks have metal wheels in them, which is a huge plus! Additionally, the models are put together with screws rather than gluing, which really makes taking them apart super easy and fast. Bachmann is a good 'Ford' or 'Chevy' I think for the model railroading world. Never had a problem with any of their passenger cars, these or many others my son and I have run over the years.
Good Enough
I needed at least one passenger car from the late 19th century to represent the time line of the railroad I am modeling that spanned the period from 1881 - 1950s. I wanted a car that had a more rounded roof end than these Bachmanns. In the photos I have of that era the baseball cap roof extension is not present. However, for the price and availability this was a good alternative. A plus is I can apply the birth name of my railroad - the Massachusetts Central soon to be renamed the Central Massachusetts and eventually folded into the giant Boston & Maine.
Good Model
Well detailed. Being unlettered, it allows you to add a roadname with the decals of your choice.
