Bachmann makes a very high quality E-Z snap rail system. The system comes in two different metals for the track, both of high quality but not equal in cost. Both for aesthetics and management of the rail system it is important to choose one or the other before buying your track. The tack that is laid on the black trackbed is steel and of lower cost than the track laid on gray trackbed which is silver nickel. If this is your first venture into building a railroad it will be less expensive to use the black steel track. If cost is not of major concern then the silver nickel will prove easier to maintain in the long run. It is probably best to not mix the two because the electrical characteristic of Silver/Nickel and Steel are quite different and over time may exhibit corrosion at the rail joiners.

These track pieces are really great for detailing on a layout. There is plenty of depth between the ties to add ballast, I find the bright track looks to shiny, so I use a brown marker to run along the sides of the track. It gives them an older rusted look while the top of the rail still looks shiny from use. I have been impressed with the faster processing of my orders. I am looking forward to ordering more when the supply chain catches up and the in-stock items increase.

E-Z track was included with my starter track. I found it easy to connect, a hundred times easer than I remember from tracks I had as a kid, That is why I have continued to order more E-Z track as I add on to my train world.

I like the ez track although it was difficulty to ballast. I finally removed the ballast and started over. Be careful with the glue and ballast it definitely may effect the operation of your train.

Bachmann E-Z makes it easy to expand your layout (If you are already running E-Z track). Great for begginers and also for layouts that are going to be modified often.
