A Very Good Cold War Set
My Korean War diorama with this set is under construction with two of the figures completed, the Commander wearing the long coat, of course and the soldier on one knee preparing the shoot first and not ask questions later! The third figure I'm starting is the running figure with the rifle at port arms. All seems quiet on the Korean DMZ until some G.I.s show up but that's later on. The figures are Gen. 1 as DML has a history of finite detailing in figures even that far back and this set is no exception to great molding, there is simply no flash, no sanding needed and no filling of arm connections. The detailing of the faces is a slight problem but as with all figures by DML, most of that can be cleaned up and details brought out with shading and dry brushing. The weapons are highly detailed as the 3 sub-machine guns used by the USSR at the time are quite amazing with barrel cooling spacing detailed very well. All said and done, I am pleasantly surprised by what came along is this highly recommended set.
