Got an answer to my question.
Awhile back I posed the question asking if Dragon was better than Tamiya. Well in one way yes but Tamiya is, I feel, a better company. I recently built a group of figures from Dragon and gave it a good review. Unfortunately that has not carried over to its tank models. I built a stug IV and was disappointed with the fit of parts and lousy directions, two things that have carried over to this model. The detail is great on this model as the last one but to me that is about all you can say good about it. Parts were miss numbered in the directions. Parts had pins to attach them but no holes where they were supposed to be glued. Directions were not always clear as to where parts went. There is a lot of sub modeling to do with this kit. By that I mean you have to put a part together then put it on the model instead of one or two pieces you just glue on. I know all the detail modelers out there are gnashing their teeth at me but I am the type of builder who doesn't see the point of building a box to hold another box that is covered up by the first box, Doesn't make sense. Or building a detailed engine and transmission and covering them up with the hull of the tank. The frustration level got to the point that near completion I began not caring if the seat had a tiny knob on the side and left it off. And guess what, if I hadn't mentioned it you would never know it wasn't there. So would I recommend this model, yes if you are the type who loves having all the extra little detail pieces to play with. Lots of pe parts which I left off. If you are a builder who is not that concerned with the historical accuracy of a models as to whether it had a right hand handle or left hand handle at a particular place then stay away from this kit or go for it and leave a lot of it unfinished. People will never know.
