Not good for a 2-56 tap
I bought this to use with a 2-56 tap and it doesn't hold the tap tightly. I'm using it on relatively soft diecast zinc alloy, but it starts slipping in the chuck after only a few turns. It might work alright with a bigger tap, but I wouldn't recommend it for a 2-56.
