Estes Interceptor, Great Kit Sport Flier, but can be improved
The kit showed up with all parts included, but the balsa nose cones for the fin pods, have been replaced by plastic and the main nose cone is now 1 piece. Ever since Estes has discontinued the Interceptor E, I have decided to modify the engine mount for 24mm F Motors and call mine Interceptor F. I slotted the tube, for all 6 fins, installed a BT-50 Airframe Reinforce Tube, used a PSII 24mm retainer to replace the stock tail cone/boat tail, installed an ejection baffle, nylon braided shock cord, parachute and added some nose weight. It should reach just under a mile in altitude on F power and will have to install a GPS locator.
