Red Flare, the shorter Cousin of Maxi Alpha 3, now with more bling.
I still have a Maxi Alpha, 50+ flights. The Maxi Alpha 3 had plastic fins and the Red Flare is the latest, but shorter version. They all fly great, but use lots of wadding, or install an ejection baffle. I'm upgrading mine for 29mm motors. How about a 40th Anniversary edition for the Maxi Alpha, next year, with more BLING, Estes?
Great to get back into rocketry!
This was a great kit to get back after a few *ahem* decades out of the game. Large model, easy to put together. The only downside is the red on the pre-finished tube tends to rub off on your fingers if you aren't careful. May be better with a clear finish applied.
