Estes Sky Warrior, Nice Rocket for Up Powering
The Estes Sky Warrior is a nice rocket for 18mm rocket motors, but is begging to be up powered and would be similar to the Estes Goblin, but longer, with a 24mm motor, but a 29mm motor mount will fit. Replace the 18mm motor mount included with the kit, with Estes part no. 3159 D & E Motor Mount Kit, your choice E, or D power. I'd install the E motor mount and use a spacer for D motors and an 18mm to 24mm motor adapter, instead of only 18mm motors, giving you a larger motor selection. Use epoxy for assembly and install an ejection baffle, so you do not fry the parachute. Upgrade the 1/8 inch launch lug with a 3/16 inch launch lug. Then you will have an Estes Sky Warrior reaching +1,400 feet with an E BP motor and surpassing the Goblin in altitude. How about a Sky Warrior XL 29mm powered, or clustering 3 X 18mm motors?
