SPAD XIII
This is a fun simple kit that went together quite easily, I thought the wing struts would be difficult to line up but it was no problem. Being a very old mold there is some flash that will need to be cleaned up. The decal sheet is quite extensive, my biggest complaint here is there is a small white ring around a portion of the round red insignia and I had a problem with mine tearing over the molded in struts on the top wing. I mixed different decals to make a fictitious fighter plane. I was able to receive this kit at no charge using Hobbylincs awesome rewards program.
A Sweetheart Build and a Throwback to Early Plastic Modeling
The SPAD is the nicest of Glencoe's three reworked Aurora WWI kits, and unless you're overwrought on detail and like to fiddle with photo etch, this kit will yield you a very nice SPAD without too much effort. The original kit has eight French and Italian schemes on a very large decal sheet, and a USAEF/RAF version can be had, with another great selection of markings. Either sheet, treat the decals with clear coat before use. And the price, it almost goes without saying, is practically theft by today's standards.

Over all this is a very good kit. There is some flash that does need to be cleaned up,and injector marks. The kit itself goes together nice and you have a good pick of markings to use.But if you decide to do the rigging I would suggest getting photos of the real plane off the internet,as there is no rigging diagram really on the instructions .It does build up nice and if you like WWI aircraft models this one fits in nice.
Nice Little model
A nice lightly detailed model. It took only several hours to build. The included figures are a nice touch. I purchased this to try my beginner's hand on a biplane model and I did have some difficulty with the struts due to arthritic fingers, but an experienced hobbyist would mot.
Nice kit!
Surprisingly good kit. Parts fit great and the wing struts (usually a pain) were a breeze. Decals were a bit brittle, but with care can be managed. I loved the end product!
Fun model to build
Good model to build and pretty easy. The hardest part was lining up the wings to the struts but with the help of some green stuff I figured it out.
For Intermediate Builder
Good instructions. Easy to work on. Have to work on small pieces so patience. The box art is a good representation of the model.
