Guillow Warbirds (400 series kits)
By: Heywood
The P-40N is the only kit from Guillow in this series that I have built so far. I built it as a display model and was impressed with the overall quality of the materials and plans provided. The decals are another matter - they were terrible. I ended up using leftover custom decals from previous builds to finish this kit. Aside from that everything went together just fine. I can't speak to how well this would build into a rubber band flier - but as a display model it turned out well enough. I can recommend the kit but I would suggest getting decals for it from another source.
Guillows /Dumas compairison

Guillows kits have improved a great deal in recent years. Laser cutting is so much better then the old die cutting, and the balsa is much better and lighter. Decals need improvement, however . The decals are water slide ,which I prefer ,but are very poor quality, don't stick well and break apart easily. The laser cutting is excellent, much much better than Dumas. Stringers need to be harder. Guillows boxes are easy to work out of,like a candy box, rather than the spaghetti type box that Dumas uses. Guillows and Dumas both have decent kits ,but each have there own short comings.
