A Good Looking Kitty
This kit goes together quickly and the parts fit well. The only seam that may need work is where the wings join to the fuselage. Minimal work is necessary to fill any gap. The kit has very nice detail externally and builds into a solid replica. Interior detailing is minimal. The only drawback is that there is no option to build the kit with the landing gear retracted. To build it with the gear up will add considerably to the build time as it will require fabrication on the part of the modeler. I recommend this kit for beginners looking to build a kit that will give them a fine result, and more advanced modelers looking for a quick fun build or a basis for a detailing project. The kit is well worth the price.
Average but okay
This is almost a snap together kit, which doesn’t really snap together. I had to do some serious trimming to get the fuselage together and then some filling. This aside it goes together well and looks like a P-40 when finished. I had some issues with the decals, some folded on themselves easily and others didn’t want to come off the backing paper. It’s not a beginners kit, and it’s not really one for intermediate modelers either, upgrade to a slightly more expensive item. Thanks to HobbyLinc for excellent service.
Easy...
I actually built this kit by accident after several years away from the hobby. I can't honestly fault the kit for what it is, but I can't recommend it either. The proportions and details are correct, and it will hardly take you any time to assemble. The decals work well enough, though the options aren't very exciting. However, it won't be a very satisfying build: the canopy is a single piece, as are the wings, and even the fuselage. There's hardly anything to actually build in this kit.
