This Hobby-Boss F6F-3 as advertised is really an easy assembly kit, for example, the fuselage comes in one piece, and the wing and lower fuselage is a single piece so you may have a seam to fill. with less than 30 parts, this kit can be assembled in an short afternoon. The level of detail is Ok, especially given its size and its price. The cockpit is very simple, but also Ok, mainly because you can't see that much from the outside. The kit comes with a drop tank. Decals are very good, (for two options). My main complaint is with the canopy, to me it looks a bit thick. If you care about accuracy, there are other better options. But given its price, it is a very good option for people who are building a collection, like me. Recommended for that.

This Hobby Boss Hellcat is a terrific little kit. OK, it may not have all the bells and whistles of some of the 'grander' kit manufacturers, but it is nice and simple, yet builds into a superb representation of the subject. If you are a 'rivet counter' type, then you might not like Hobby Boss kits anyway for whatever reason - but I for one enjoy them. If you are looking for an enjoyable build, with no real fiddlyness or issues, then this is a great kit for you. I would also recommend it if you are purchasing for children of the right age to build, as it doesn't have too many parts, goes together nicely, and is fun to put together. Two sets of marking options included is also a nice touch.

This is a nice 1/72 scale kit from Hobby Boss. Fit and detail are good for the size. It can be built with the landing gear up or down but no parts move except for the propeller. The cockpit has some detail but there is no pilot figure. Of course at this scale without an open canopy, it is difficult to see into the cockpit anyway. Still, I always enjoy having figures with my models. I hadn't built a model since my sons were young and bought this to see if my grandson would show any interest. I really enjoyed the build and have already bought several new models. I've decided to build everything in 1/72 scale to get a perspective on the comparative size of different craft throughout history.

I haven't put together a model in about 25 years. My first plan was a difficult F-117 at about 12 years old. I didn't purchase this kit from here but this was a pretty easy kit to build and most all pieces went together well. Nice sprues and very little flashing that needed to be trimmed. This was my first attempt at water slide decals and I learned some lessons. I'll be trying more of these e-z build kits as they make nice planes and then I'll move into one a bit more difficult.

As a Hobby Boss easy builder kit, it features a low parts count, one-piece fuselage and wing assemblies, and two decal options in the box. It includes a (typical for HB's 1/72 planes) simple cockpit, and a drop tank. Engine is molded to the cowling, sadly, but hidden behind the prop this is acceptable. Overall accuracy and surface detail look good. For the price you can't go wrong!

Good for anyone’s collection, just challenging enough for enough for a weekend edition

Came with no canopy. There was no indication nor part to secure the propeller in place.
