Great little kit!
This was my first HobbyBoss kit and the first submarine I have built. It was a lot of fun. The instructions are very simple and easy to follow. The decals are a little fragile, especially the water line markers. The hull halves fit together nicely and I had to use very little putty to get rid of the seam lines. You have options to leave the vertical launch cells open or closed. Leaving them open does present a bit of a challenge getting the hatch doors to fit correctly/level with the top of the sub. I would have given it a 5-star rating if this option was better designed. I elected to leave out most of the photo etched accessories for my purposes. With a little ingenuity, you can make a really slick looking display base. I won't be shy about HobbyBoss kits any more! I would buy this kit again. I wish HobbyBoss had a JIN class in 1/350 too. The JIN is 1/700...
