Reviews : Hasegawa Nakajimi Ki43-II Hayabusa (Oscar)

This kit doesn't offer a lot of detail, but it does provide a clean and effortless build typical of Hasegawa kits. The cockpit is spartan -- if you have a spare pilot lying around, use him here to take up space -- and the wheel-wells are shallow, as is the surface detail. The decals are okay, giving you a choice of two different Oscars, each with mottled green camouflage over bare metal, with colorful unit markings on the tail and rear fuselage. Recommended.

Panel lines are raised(?!?!?!?!) Wing fit could be better, get the filler out! Gear up not optional. So I got out the exacto and some filler. Looks good. Cut out wheel wells to fit tires. Overall it looks nice. Took some work. Cockpit detail could be better and parts stronger. I recommend because there are few options to get a Ki43 in this scale. But Hasegawa has done better.

The number of parts in small and fit will there is little detale in the cockpit and no pilot. The cockpit glass has only one piostion the inst are good and paint chart is good. The detcals are for two planes and are easy to use but care must be used in there placeing. It is good plane for the first timer.

I found with only one exception, the cockpit, the kit went together well. I still painted the cockpit, & did not glue canopy so details can be seen. Additional photos of the plane versions can be found in books & internet photos for further details & squadron history

It was a good cheap kit; the fit was good, with no gaps or big issues. It lacks some detail, but for the cost, it is worth it.

so-so detail , raised panel lines , but quick effortless build . older mold . still holds up and looks the part .

Looking forward to build this Ki43-II. Will take a couple weeks to build.
