very good and an excellent price

to be honest, I had never heard of the F-20 and after some research I found out why. seems the F-20 was in competition with the F-16 to become a mainline fighter. the tigershark lost out in an apparently very close competition. politics became involved and Northrup did not press the issue even though their fighter was in many ways superior to the F-16. turns out they did not want to jeopardize their contract for the B-2 spirit bomber. Wikipedia sites sources as saying that this was the best fighter never put into production. as for the model.....it is very good. no fit problems, good cockpit, good landing gear. comes with a pilot.it is devoid of weapons except for a couple of sidewinders on the wing tips. I replaced the 3 fuel tanks with 2 mavericks, 2 gbu-12 on the wing pylons and a mk 82 center line, all from hasagawa weapons kits. highly recommend
F-5 On Steroids!

Glad Hasegawa has chosen this plane for its 1/72nd scale lineup. The kit is fairly simple, and thus, should make for a fast build. The F-20 Tigershark was essentially a beefed up F-5 Freedom Fighter on steroids. It was fast, agile, and could carry an impressive array of ordinance. Unfortunately, it lost out to the F-16 in competition. Nonetheless, I think it's a fine looking plane and I'm happy to have it in my display case. This would be a great first model for beginners, but experienced modelers will probably like it too. It would be fun to experiment with this plane and update it to what it might look like now had it made into front line service. Let your imagination run wild!
good but simple
This is a good what if plane. The parts fit well and cockpit has some detale and comes with pilot. The inst are easy to read and it is a plane that you can paint any you want. The decals that come with the plane are not much. But after market decals can make this any plane you want. same with the hardpoints it comes with three tanks and two sidwinders. But the chart shows were outher stores can be placed. A simple plane that is a great what if.
The F5 update that lost the competition to the F16. A nice model to have on the stand.
This airplane was an improved F-5 fighter that had a new and more powerfull engine, better electronics, but the overall details of its father. It was facing the F16 as the cheap fighter. And it lost. Only 2 were made, and used as testing. As a kit, its simple but with adequate details. Not many know what is this model about, as it is a rare airplane, even if the kit is common. nice to be near a YF-16 prototype.

A very good kit of aircraft that never went into production. Which gives you a great opportunity to go wild with markings. The fit is excellent. My kit had no flash and the engraved panel lines are not real deep. A great kit for the beginner or seasoned modeler.
Can't beat the price!

Nice little kit. Loved the fit of the parts and the open canopy. With some spare decals and weapons. This kit builds up into a great What If aircraft.
