good model and from my research, very accurate. if you want to leave the air brakes deployed you will have to cut the the star decal. weaponry is very accurate. the USS Hancock was decommissioned in late 1976. the first VA 55 was disestablished in 1975. so I'm guessing this plane was on the Hancock circa 1972. If you build the Marine version, VMAT 102 was headquartered at MCAS Yuma, not sure about deployments. cockpit is lacking. it calls for weight in the nose but the fuselage is very narrow, I ended putting weight behind the cockpit through the opening on the bottom before mounting the wing. would recommend to all.

This was a fun little jet to build. It went together well with a bit of sanding. Hasagawa usually buts a little chart in their instructions for various bombs and missiles but doesn't does not include much. I decided to use the external fuel tanks and save the bombs for something else. This kit needs some weight in the nose. I purchased a jar of BBs for that purpose. This kit required 2 or 3 grams, I found that BBs are 3 to the gram. I used white glue to secure them into place.

This model has some bad spots and some good spots. The good are the inst sheet is good and paint chart in good as well.The cockpit has some detale the parts have some fit problems the decals are good but you must chose what plane to build for you will cut into outher decals. There is a good number of weapons for the hardpoints. a simple plane but could be better.

Unlike most of their other 1/72 aircraft kits, it has a better-than-typical-for-Hasegawa cockpit. Also has acceptable surface detail. It includes a decent number of stores (bombs, a Shrike missile, and a centerline drop tank). Features markings for two airframes. A nice kit that will look good on the shelf! Recommended!

The 1/72 Hasegawa A-4E/F is the best 1/72 A-4 kit of any variant in its scale! Great detail with a nice selection of weapons with bombs and missiles! Decal sheet offers the choice of either 2 colorful squadron markings! Overall, it's an awesome kit for the cheap price!

Decals for both U.S. Navy and Marines. The Navy decals are low viz in black and grey only. Decent pilot fig. No flash Nice panel lines on fuselauge and wings. Molded in a light grey.
