Good kit for the price
By: fosk
I bought this kit to paint and decal in the desert flanker scheme. the kit comes with 4 gray sprues. The plastic is very smooth and polished with raised panel lines. There is 1 sprue for the clear parts. There was a little flash on most parts but not enough to cause concern. The cockpit detail is pretty good. Instrument panel detail is provided via decal but there is raised detail on the side consoles for the switches and dials. You will need some ballast in the nose or the plane will sit on it's tail. I used a photo etch set for the cockpit which didn't fit very well at all which leads me to believe this is probably a re-box of another manufacturer. The model goes together with no issues. I used after market decals so I can't say how the decals were. For $12 it's a bargain
Nice F-15
Nice little kit that reproduces a classic F-15C from the late 70's, early 80's. Kit decals are for 2 aircraft with the Compass Grey( Ghost Grey) scheme of early F-15's. Kit includes a center fuel tank and full compliment of Sparrows and Sidewinders. Kit went together quickly and with minimum of fuss, minor sanding and filing required. This kit has raised panel lines but they are very fine and do not hold the kit back. I hand brush painted my kit with the exception of the bare metal finish near the afterburners, so new modelers please don't let the paint scheme discourage you from trying this kit (see photos of EG 517 on light wood shelf above).
A nice kit of a legendary bird.
Typical of Hase's 1/72 long-reboxed aircraft kits, it has an adequate cockpit, basic wheel wells, crisp moldings and acceptable surface detail. Unlike many of the aforementioned kits, it includes a decent selection of stores (AIM-9, AIM-120 and a centerline drop tank). Much appreciated! Features markings for two gray airframes. Aftermarket decals will open up plenty of alternatives, if gray isn't your thing. Overall a nice kit that will build into an attractive shelf sitter!
Its ok ...
I was hoping that this kit would be better than it was, but I was let down. The raised panel lines killed it for me as did the lack of any intake/engine detail. The end appearance isnt bad but for what is available out there now, its not good either. If you want a cheap small scale Eagle, then sure. But if you have built some of the more modern offerings (Academy's F-15E) than you will be disappointed.
good not great
This is a good plane the parts need only a little sanding. They fit well and the inst are easy to read as is the paint chart. The cockpit has some detale and no piot. The landing gear and canopy can be up or down. The decals are good but there are a lot of them. There are miss and tanks for the hardpoints. A very easy plane to buld for any molder.
Best 1/72 F-15C for the Price!
Another great 1/72 kit by Hasegawa within the $10 range! This kit comes with great detail on the surface, a nice amount of weapons, and a decal sheet with 3 different squadron markings! The disadvantages include raised panel lines, and scarce cockpit detail. But it is an excellent kit and highly recommended for early modelers!
Pretty good kit
I purchased this kit off of Amazon. It was a pretty fun build. I enjoyed painting and weathering it. I used spray paint for this kit. I did an aggressor paint job on it and thought it turned out pretty good. This model is very large for 1/72. I would very much recommend this kit to anyone trying to build a 1/72 collection.
