A7D/E
This was a very nice kit of the A-7, Detail was good and there were no fit problems. I used an Eduard Photo-Etch cockpit detail set and an Aries resin aftermarket seat. I especially like the ability to build it with the avionics bays open. I had to rob the spares box for ordance, as Hasegawa rarely offers any in their kits. You have to buy their aircraft weapons sets. And something like the A-7 (SLUFF) just don't look right without a ton of ordance hanging off of them. The kit decals were nice and these are the ones I used. Overall a nice kit from Hasegawa. I would recommend this kit.
Nice build with some good details and it looks great on display
This was one of my first builds in my Naval Aviation collection. I was very happy with the fit and finish of this kit. Nice detail in the cockpit right out of the box (my first tour in the Navy was in an A-7E command, I have plenty of seat time in this type airplane). The rest of the model is nicely done and went together with very little fuss. I used an aftermarket decal sheet depicting my previous command, VA-46 Clansmen. The only thing I would do different if I could is use some metal landing gear legs, the model squats a little too much in my opinion.
