Myoko-class cruiser 'Haguro' is a great find
The IJN's Myoko-class cruiser 'Haguro' was the last IJN large warship to be sunk in World War 2. I've been fascinated by the designs of the IJN's ships as they were different in so many ways from the U.S. & U.K. navies, even from the German navy. This one surprised me somewhat as I wasn't entirely familiar with this class of IJN cruiser; I simply wanted a heavy cruiser to help build a collection. The Haguro has an unusual design in that it has 3 forward turrets; numbers 1 & 3 are mounted on the deck & number 2 is mounted on the forward barbette. I was a little surprised and when it came to assembling the turrets I had to position the 3rd one slightly sticking out to the port side. This is a great kit to build, not too many small parts and came together quite well.
