A Damsel in Distress
The AVALON castle is a very nice rendition of an old Medieval Castle. Really like the main entrance, which has both a Drawbridge and a sliding Gate. Both functional. I've purchased some modeling chain to further enhance the realism of both. Of course, what would a castle be without some knights in shining armor...plenty available from Hobbylinc. The model itself is completely in separate pieces. The towers and walls are made so that you can assemble with or without any type of glue. There are windows along the walls, as well as along the towers. The towers have trapdoors leading to the upper level. All of these or molded shut. Intentions are to modify these so as they can either be opened or closed. Be sure to wash all the pieces in soapy water before priming and painting. Very nice model and look forward to simulating various wargames with it and rescuing a few Damsels in distress.
Well done model
The detail is very good, and very simple to build and it's solid. The parts are flexible, so with additional kits and parts, different setups can be made. You do want to be gentle putting the walls and towers together and apart so as not to break the tabs. It has cutouts available for windows and doors in the towers (to access the battlements - complete with floors in the towers) and trap doors in the towers, but they are pretty thick even after having cutouts already - it makes opening them a bit difficult to open up. The working trellis gate and drawbridge are nice touches. Over all, it's a great model, and works well for diaramas, warganes and RPGs.
Imex Avalon Castle 1/72 Scale
Excellent quality kit. No flash. Easy assembly with snap fit or may be glued together for permanent display. Has removable plastic molded wooden doors at tops of towers and windows that have scored lines that may be removed or left in place in towers. Has a working Drawbridge and wooden/steel gate. Great for a medieval diorama or wargamming. Molded in grey.
Easy to build and looks great
The castle is easy to build. No glue needed unless you want to, and can be somewhat modular if you do not want to stick to the picture. Looks great and perfect for 28-35 mm miniature gaming as well. The dimensions are about 12 x 12 and the towers are about 6 inches tall.
Wow, it's huge for the price!
This kit was extremely well made and perfect for war gaming with my ten year old boys. The thing is 1/72 scale and much larger than I thought it would be. Not sure if I'll cut out the windows yet or not. Really satisfied with this purchase.
Love this castle
Great castle for 1/72nd scale my only complaint is windows and door ways are not punched out and are very difficult to punch them out.
Great detail
Well detailed model of a plastic castle.1/72 scale. For the price can not be beat. Perfect for 1/72 scale figures .
great model for knights and medieval era modeling
