I got this kit to make a Vietnam Era C130 for my dad as a Christmas present. Overall, it is a good kit. I did end up doing a lot of sanding, filling, and more sanding, as it is an older mold. Details were lacking overall which again isn't surprising given how long Italeri has been making this kit. There are newer and more detailed kits out there, but you won't find one a this price. The final product turned out nicely, and my dad really appreciated the gift. It fit on a 1/72 stand, and I ended up lighting the flight deck and cargo bay with LED lights. I would recommend this kit (and I would imagine the Gunship variant made from the same mold) as long as you're comfortable with a model that needs some extra work.

Building this model brought back many found memories of my 1500 flight hours as a pilot in the Green and Brown Whisperjet. Three notes of caution/concern: 1. The stub propeller mounts are too flimsy and easy to break. Suggest putting a dab of epoxy on each blade mount to the hub before assembling. 2. Very important to pre-fit the parts you will use depending on whether your model will have a wheels up or down configuration. Getting the ramp and door to fit in closed configuration takes some sanding and test fitting. 3. The plastic windscreen insert is tough to fit and the assembly diagram doesn't really tell you whether to insert it on the exterior surface or to slide it under the surrond.

This is a great c-130 the cargo area is very detailed the kit has options for the cargo doors being opened or closed also you can have the other doors open or closed. The landing gear is strong yet detailed there are lots of decal options which is nice. I had trouble with the wings there was only small plastic tabs to hold them in also the cockpit is not very detailed. However those were the only problems that I encountered. Overall though this was a great c-130 model and I really enjoyed that it for the most part went together flawlessly ,and this is probably one of the best C-130 models out there.

This is a good kit from Italeri. There was very little flash on the parts and the pieces all fit together nicely. The decals consist of three different liveries. The instructions were easy to follow, and allow for open/closed doors and wheel wells.

This model is amazing. I finally found the C-130 model that I wanted it is a beast. It is a good model and it is a big model and took a while to build. I will be hanging this up from the ceiling.

First model kit I purchased, instilled the modeling bug in me. Easy to follow instructions. Have purchased several more kits from Italeri.

C-130 Hercules a fine build. No problems, just requires patience and a steady hand with the air brush.
