#148 Whisker(R) Self-Centering Metal Knuckle Couplers
These couplers were just what I needed to replace some #5 coupler imposters cast in plastic. My only problem now is that I did not see any disclaimer about not including coupler boxes. Lucky for me, I was changing out the plastic couplers that came with 25 Stewart Hobbies 35' open hoppers. These cars have a cast in place coupler box secured with a small Phillips screw. I can't say how well they may work in a factory Athearn coupler box, or any other manufacturer's cars.
