Reviews : Kinetic-Model F-16C Block 25/42 USAF

I built this over a period of three weeks, completely OOB, no aftermarket. While there were four markings available, I chose to do the same as on the box since my brother in law was a mechanic on this plane in the 112 FS. While I did have a couple of fit issues--the canopy didn't want to sit flush and the top rear piece of the fuselage left a bit of a ledge. I suspect, however, that that was a builder issue not for the kit. The decals were excellent, and being cartograph, went down well. There are very detailed instructions on applying them. There are a lot of options for armament, though part of that was frustrating; while you can build 2 racks to hold 2 bombs each, you can only build two bombs that would go on them. They also included a lot of extra weapon decals for armament that is not included in the kit (like AGM-65s). The weapons are mostly really good, though the HARMs need extra work to keep them straight. Additionally, the way the weapons attach to hardpoints is EXCELLENT. The posts allow a force fit, hardly any glue needed. Overall, the kit goes together well and I may build again and see what sort of aftermarket additions I could make.

This kit overall was a good build. Directions for most part were easy to follow. Except for nose and canopy, which was probably my fault since I can never figure out how to get a streamlined closed canopy, parts fitted together well. I skipped a lot of the small decals on this build by personal choice; too small to fool with and wanted to get this build done so I could move on to the next.
