Reviews : Moebius Invisible Man

I bought this kit shortly after it was introduced by Moebius quite a long time ago. It was the second monster model I built after returning to the hobby after a 50+ year hiatus. I was fortunate in having a magazine article about building it to help me along as I learned new skills and got back into the groove. All I can say is this is an amazing model kit, maybe the best Moebius has ever done. It has a huge amount of detail which really brings out the character and the setting. And the pose is dynamic and amazing making the character partly invisible. It is a big job with all that detail but pays off in the end. It has won me three or four awards and holds a special place on my shelves. Hugely recommended for classic monster model lovers.

This kit, The Invisible Man by Moebius Models arrived a little larger than I expected. I'm 73 and I've been building models since the early 60's. My favorites have always been the Universal Monster models that were first produced by Aurora, and reproduced over the years by Monogram, Revell, and Polar Lights. You know the ones, models like The Wolfman, The Creature, and Frankenstein. This Invisible Man model kit came in alot of pieces, more then I'm us to, and should keep me busy with glueing and painting everything. This one should be a nice addition when displayed next to my others. Looks like a cool model and I can't wait to get started.

To start, lots and lots of parts. Great molds, nearly no flash i mean almost zero. The design of this kit is nicely done. Thought i might do this one in gray scale. Could be cool looking. Maybe prime it in gray scale to see how it looks, could always paint it if i did not like it. Moebius gives you a box full of parts. Tons of clear parts. There is a few small critters like frogs and a rat. Some in skeletal form. Blocks of books. Nice book shelf and table. Also thought about building a room instead of using the base. I would think some doll house stuff would jazz it up. It was a great deal from hobbylinc. Can't go wrong with moebius or hobbylinc.

This kit is a lot of fun and very well done! The base is wonderfully detailed and includes a plethora of neat little details and parts-bottles, books, a fake nose(!) and invisible rats and a frog! The pose and design of the figure makes it appear that he really is invisible as you can see there is nothing in the bandages of his head and one of his gloved hands is suspended out of his sleeve!The most difficult part of the kit was assembling the coat/torso as it comes in several parts and has to be carefully assembled. This kit was a delight to build and paint!

Great kit from Moebius to help round out the Universal horror characters. Typical of the Moebius kits is attention to detail and an abundance of customizing parts, like the laboratory glassware. Having said that, I almost wish those parts had been molded as solid pieces. It's tough to hide the seams on clear parts. Also, the goggles could have been molded in clear green. Nevertheless, this is a wonderful kit to display with previous Moebius kits, as well as with the Aurora reissue models.

it was to build not a lot of flash, good for some that has never built a figur model, it has no face to paint, but a lot of other details to paint. It takes time to build a figure model and has have lot of painting to do. If you take your time, use good paint, it will come out nice. This site has a lot of good paints for kits like this. I used Vallejo paints

great details, lots of extras to customize, easy assembly . i painted all the clear pieces on the inside,metallic colors look like liquid.

Bought this model some time ago. Love it. Goes together easily and looks great next to my Grim Reaper model.
