A really fun build of a really cool motorcycle and its famous Dark Knight rider!
My first Moebius kit and I liked it! I built both the Bat-Pod and Batman figure kits. The figure kit comes with both a standing and a riding figure. The pod kit is 2 spues of black parts and 2 huge rubber tires. The kit has little to no flash and required little clean up. But it is unlike any other motorcycle kit...it has no chain, no typical engine, etc., which makes it both interesting and challenging as it is fairly delicate. I let glued subassemblies sit and fully solidify before moving on. The paint scheme is very simple - black and silver, so I did the front tanks in gold just to add a bit of variance. CAUTION: If adding the riding figure, WAIT to add the steering arms and hand grips until you are ready to place the figure AND - on the figure WAIT until you go to place him to glue the arms and hand grips to the figure and bike!!! I built the figure in the wrong order and had to extend the bike steering arms to reach the grips. So I added wires to the hand grips as per the box art to make up for it, which was very easy to do. A really fun build of a really cool motorcycle and its famous Dark Knight rider!
A delicate build... Much patience required
I build my Bat-Pod in parallel with my Batmobile Tumbler, but I should have dedicated myself entirely to this kit only while it was under construction. It is a very, very delicate model, and a lot of patience is required to complete it. I made the mistake of trying to rush through the construction, and you can tell when you inspect my final kit up-close. There is a separate Batman figure that fits in the saddle, and thank God, because my Batman is doing more to hold the Batpod together than it is supporting him. That said, I do recommend this kit, as there is literally no other motor vehicle like it. You will be challenged, but you won't be bored.
Nicely Detailed Kit
Surprisingly well detailed for a kit of this size. A bit of effort can yield a really nice final product. Of course, there are seams to be filled, and it will require paint to look its best. The model is rather spindly in some places, so be sure to take your time and give your glue time to properly set before handling. If you plan to use the rider figure from Moebius' Batman figure set, make sure the figure's arms and the Bat-Pods controls line up properly before doing the final gluing. I would recommend dunking the tires in some hot tap water before sliding them onto the wheels, this will soften the vinyl and make that step so much easier.
Dark Knight Pod
Excellent subject and nice kit. Very tedious build for me because of small and some fragile parts but outcome was great!
